# IOTA

[IOTA ](https://www.iota.org/)is an open-source distributed ledger and cryptocurrency designed for the Internet of things. It uses a directed acyclic graph to store transactions on its ledger, motivated by a potentially higher scalability over blockchain based distributed ledgers.
